I have had the same style/cut since I was in Jr High and I am 29 now. I am afraid to try something new because I have a long face but do not feel I would look good with short hair. I have blonde hair, a little past my shoulders and I wear it flat ironed straight with a side bang. My hair is a little thin and somewhat damaged from years of coloring. I will post my picture later when I am at home. I am looking for a style for a long, thin face. Any tips would be appreciated.
Thanks |

Hi shelnae29, i understand that you're a little nervous about getting a new hairstyle, don't be anymore. Get exited because i know that you will feel great after you have gotten your new look, and with some tips in mind will help you to make you great decisions. You will be happy and your hair will appreciate you.
Right now I think that it's important to get you hair to be & look healthier, you said: "My hair is a little thin and somewhat damaged from years of coloring." Don't us girls all did that in our teen years - at least that was what i did and i'm now 28 with great regrets. So, i think that you should get a haircut that will cut off most of the damaged hair and allow your hair to grow back healthy again (that was what i did and my hair looks fine now) - you don't have to damage you hair to look beautiful and trendy. But again, it's up to you, I'll give you some options for long, medium and short hairstyles to choose from.
Here are some tips for you new look that is great for your face structure:
*If you have straight hair, you can create more width with bangs (bangs is back to its trend and it makes you look even younger and cuter - i have bang .
*Any bob that comes to your chin is perfect for a long face. Chin-length bobs and cuts are ideal for you because they create the illusion of width. Curls & waves also add width, but avoid short layers that add volume on top. Bangs make your face appear shorter because they cover up a particularly large forehead. Shy away from blunt bangs & go for sideswept bangs.
*LONG hair- just don't go TOO long: If you love long locks, then curl your hair. The body adds width. Spritz hair with setting spray & wind sections of hair around the barrel of a medium-sized curling iron. OR Layers work well too, because they give that illusion of a wider face.
Important: Avoid extremely long or short cuts, these elongate your face - I know that layers aren't making your hair grow healthier, but as long you don't go too crazy with the layers, then you should be ok.
this one is pretty sexy - you can have the same style with shorter length is fine too
this one is elegant and stylish
so cute

medium long layered haircut - trendy!
this one is just awesome - i actually have this haircut
curls is cute
I hope this is helpful to you. You can find more great hairstyles on this website's hairstyle gallery.
PS: Please please let me know how it goes - it'll be even better if you post your pic....or just some words back on your new look would be great too! |
