How to achieve this style?

Women's Beauty Life Forum » Medium Hair Styles

This is my style now. More along the lines of Jenny or Star in this picture.

This is the style I want.

I have a back angled bob; the front is the longest at about an inch passed my chin, but the sides are pretty long as well without any layers. I fell in love with this style but I'm unsure how to achieve it. My hair would probably need to be cut a bit shorter to get the whispyness, but how much shorter? Many varying layers, perhaps? Also, my hair is relatively thick. Would this present a problem? Are there any products/techniques to counter this? Aside from the thickness and length, what would be some general styling tips to get this particular look?

Thanks for your attention!

Edit: If someone could supply a picture to get a general idea of what this person's hair might look like straight (ie: length) that would also be fantastic.

Hi Aubreda,

I had a similar hairstyle in the past, but my bangs was shorter and my hair wasn't as wavy.

The new style that you want has the opposite haircut to your old hairstyle (as shown on the 4 pics). The new style goes from shorter bangs to shorter sides and long at the back. The old goes from long in the front to shorter and shorter to the back.

If your hair has the same length as pictures #1 and #3, then I think that you just have to shape your hair to the new hairstyle (shorter bangs, shorter on the sides, tips thinner etc.). On top of that you might have to get some light curls to achieve that wavy looking, and definitely layers to create that wispy hair.

I had thin hair (it's getting thicker), and I remember that I had to work quite some time to stylish my hair daily just to create the wispy and spiky look - it was too much work for me, and I didn't like the face that I had to "iron" my hair with the straighter. So in this case, I think that it's a good that you have thick hair, because it'll save you a lot of time to create this look daily. Maybe you don't have to anything else than just blow-dry, and style the style with some gel to achieve this "messy", puffy and sexy look (put some gel on you palms, and "massage" you hair from the side by moving from bottom to top, and do the same way for the back). All you need is a blow dryer and gel, and with your hands, you could achieve the natural "messy", puffy and sexy look - I don't recommend to use hair brush.

I hope this will be helpful to you, and good luck with your new sexy hairstyle Smile

The only way to get this style by using conditioners. That way the hair will remain straight. You'll still have to work with it a bit, but much less than now, and it will stay better with less reaction to weather.

The best way to get a cut like this is with a razor cut. If your hair is that thick then you would want to thin it out a bit but leave the bang heavy.

Go to a hair stylist. Take their advice. and use the natural conditioners for the better results.
