Six moves in 6 minutes for more get-up-and-go.

When you're trying to cram 27 hours' worth of work, play, and chores into 24, you have no time to feel tired. Although any type of exercise can give you a boost, these explosive power moves will give you the biggest payoff. The reason: Speed and jumping exercises train muscles to recover quickly so you'll feel less fatigued when you're on the go, says Joe Signorile, PhD, an exercise physiologist at the University of Miami who helped create this workout.

High-intensity moves also nudge up your calorie burn both during and after the workout, which takes only 6 minutes, once a week. Just add these exercises to the end of a typical workout, after a walk or run, at the end of a yoga or Pilates class, or when you're done lifting weights.* All you need is some space to move. If you have joint problems, check with your doctor first.

* If you want to do this routine independent of other workouts, warm up for at least 10 minutes before you start and cool down for 10 minutes afterward.

Skip Hops

Step forward with left foot, and as you land, hop into the air, bending right knee in front. Land on right foot and hop again, moving across the room with arms swinging opposite of legs. Skip for 2 minutes.

March Out and In

March in place as quickly as possible, stepping right foot then left foot out to side, and then stepping each foot back in (out, out, in, in), letting arms swing naturally. Repeat for 30 seconds. Then do another 30 seconds starting with left foot.
